1987 Jeep Comanche - mansonfan88
About my Comanche
My Comanche is fully stock with an exception to the taller tires which are 30x9.5R15LT Desert Dog Tubeless Radials. My little Jeep is constantly out on some of my local trails, nothing to taxing, just enough to make me smile.
I call my Jeep the 'Nekromanche' because it keeps coming back from the dead. Twice now I've blown freeze plugs out of my block and I have discovered that my engine block has previously been cracked and re-welded.
My ride is also listed on cardomain.com where there are alot more photos of the progress the truck has made since I've owned it, some of the trail rides it's gone on, plus there's more information about the truck in general.
My rig is equipped with a I-4 150cid gas engine, which is bolted to a 4-speed standard shift tranny. I am currently thinking about installing a 3" Rough Country lift, but before I do that I'll have to set up the proper gears or swap out for a more powerful motor, this little I-4 has enough problems as it is pushin' the 30"s around.
The ugliest thing about the truck at this point is the white fender on the driver side. The owner just before me drove the truck into a ditch smashing that side of the trucks front end in towards the cab. So they replaced the fender with one from a different truck, which happened to be a different color. I'm not really worried about that too much though considering this truck isn't here for show purposes, it still drives just the same in the dirt.
My rig is more then just my trail runner though. It's my daily driver as well. I put over 100 miles on this truck daily. I am currently getting around 25 miles to a gallon, so it all works out well. I have a little truck that I love the look of, it hangs with the modded out trucks when trail riding, it's great on gas, what else could I want?
*Please comment on my rig and let me know what you think of it so far*
