I bought this old straight axle GMC at a public auction. I was looking for a project vehicle to fix up and wheel as a way to take the wheeling chore off my cherry '99 K-1500.  The GMC had a blown motor as well as several other problems.  Since then I swapped the blown 6.2 out for a 6.5 diesel with an ATS turbocharger.  I installed a 4" ProComp lift so I could swap out my 33"'s for a set of 35" Dick Cepek Mountain Cats.  The result has been a simple low buck ride that gets me around nicely in the Cascade Mountains above my home here in Oregon.
